WEEK FROM MAY 1st TO 5th MAY

Hello hello hello students of 3º!!!
How is everything going? June is already here! Time flies!

This week we are doing the reading from Unit 3, about egyptians too! We are sure you are going to learn lots of things! In order to do that, go to book 2, Unit 3, pages 44, 45 and 46.

On the top of page 44 you have the recording, so you can read the text while you listen. It is an excellent idea to learn beautiful pronounciation! You can stop it and repeat it as many times as necessary!

Please, remember to continue working on the phonology of unit 3! Listen to the recording and repeat as often as you can :)

Keep working like this! Your teachers are very proud of you!

WEEK FROM MAY 25th TO 29th

Hi there, friends! You still doing ok?
This week we continue with Unit 3. In order to do that, we would like you to do the following activities:

Remember to listen to the words in the phonology section at least once a day! The more, the better :) try to repeat and pronounce! You are doing a great job so far!

* As we saw yesterday, page 42! The listening! Do you remember?? In order to listen, click on Track 13 above. Then answer the questions below. Remember to try and make complete sentences. You can stop and repeat the recording as much as you need!

* Page 50. Hieroglyphs!!! On page 50, you have to write a secret message (in English of course) and then give it to someone so they can guess! If you want, you can upload it to google Drive for us to see it (optional). Do you want to know more about hieroglyphs? Watch these videos!

Did you know egyptians did not use vowels? Look!

WEEK FROM MAY 18th TO 22th

Page 40: you know this page by heart! The dear homeschooling! First, write the words and then ask your parents or a sibling to assess your pronounciation! Please, upload this activity onto you Google Drive file :) Thank you!

Page 41: super easy! Here you have a dictation to revise all the words we have been learning this unit! Listen to the recording and write. If doesnt matter if you make a mistake, you can correct later!

WEEK FROM MAY 11th TO 15th

Fellow students! We hope you are doing well!
This week we are starting a new unit! Unit 3. In order to do that, we would like you to do the following activities:

* Start with the phonology on page 35. Listen to the recording following the steps on the book. Look at the words and the pictures. Can you guess what this unit will be about?

* Do pages 36 and 37. If possible, do each page in different days, to make sure you are learning the words and not just "remembering" them to do the exercise.
If possible, try to listen everyday to the phonology. Do you know the meaning of every word?

Here you have a couple of videos that will set you in the mood for what is to come this unit!
Have a nice week! Lots of love from your English teachers!

Here you also have a super funny game where you can write with hieroglyphs and learn more about them!

If you still want to know more and more about Egypt, here is a wonderful documentary from National Geagraphic, in case you have extra time :)

Dear students! One more week in the English blog starts!
For this week, we would like you to do the following activities :)

* Reading: pages 28, 29 and 30. Please, listen to the recording while you read, for several times. Follow with your finger! Dont worry if you dont understand everything :) Remember you can stop it whenever you need it! When you have listened to it for several times, you can underline the words you recognise from page 19 (phonology). Can you guess their meaning?

If you want, you can do it little by little. One day you do page 28, next day page 29...and so on and so forth! If you want, you can do a picture when you finish reading, to see that you understood the story! Here you have the recipe for the cookies:

INGREDIENTS:
- 250g butter
- 125g white sugar
- 250g brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 450g flour
- 1/2 spoon yeast
- A pinch of salt
- 250g chocolate chips (or a bar broken into small pieces)

STEPS
1. Preheat your oven to maximum heat, up and down mode. In a bowl, mix the melted butter with both sugars. Mix well until everything is smooth and liquid.
2. Add the eggs one by one (add one, mix, add the other).
3. Take half the flour, add the salt and the yeast and sift it (pass it through the strainer). Then repeat the process with the other half.
4. When you have a chewy and gummy dough (it should not stick to the walls of the bowl), add the chocolate chips and mix well with your bare hands.
5. Take small portions of dough and place them on an oven tray with a paper. You can put them pretty close, they will expand but not much.
6.  Put the tray in the oven, temperature 180º, for 9-10 minutes. Dont worry if they dont look cooked enough, they will harden when they cool down.
7. Before baking the next lot, make sure the oven is again at maximum heat. Repeat as many times as necessary, until you finish the dough.

I hope you enjoy them!!!! They are delicious!!!
Lots of love,

English teachers.
